Shaelyn Carroll

Shaelyn began her Karate career in 2009 at the age of 4 and currently trains 3-4 times per week. She is currently a third degree Junior Black Belt. She has competed in local, national and world tournaments and has won many trophies including world and national titles in 2013 and 2015, as well as many first, second and third place finishes.

The International Isshinryu Hall of Fame honored her as Young Female Karate Ka of the Year, 12 and under, in 2015. They also ranked her in the top five many times: in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016, for Junior Female Competitor, 12 and under, and in 2015, 2016 and 2017 for Young Female Karate Ka, 12 and under.  

Shaelyn also plays hockey on the Little Caesars Tier 1 girls hockey team that competes in many national and international tournaments. She is a member of her school’s student council, represents her grade at Parent/Teacher Organization meetings, has been an anti-bullying advocate and earned recognition for her efforts supporting and comforting victims of bullying.
