Lara Maun

Lara began training in Isshinryu karate with FSDC in September of 2014, when she was 9 years old. She earned her Junior Black Belt in December of 2019. She loved Isshinryu from the start and has enjoyed teaching younger students over the past year. She found that teaching has really helped her with her form, since teaching forces her to run katas more slowly and concentrate on doing them right.

Lara has competed at several tournaments and won a few awards. She feels proudest of a 4th place she won for Bo kata at the Isshinryu Hall of Fame Tournament in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Lara is a student at Novi High School. She volunteers at Novi Woods Elementary School. She loves traveling with her family. And she loves photography (see the Artists of FSDC page to view a few samples of her work.)
